Join us at the Santa Margarita Wildflower Festival this weekend!

March 23, 2011 Written by LaurenJ

I had never heard of Santa Margarita before, but since reading Sunset Magazines’s article on “18 Places to Welcome Spring” I’ve been dying to go… and you should be too!  Luckily this weekend is the Santa Margarita Wildflower Festival and Chivas will be there with a table full of our floral-inspired goat milk soaps, goat milk face creams, lip balms and more. Want to join the festivities with a last-minute weekend excursion?  Read on…

A petal drive-by on the coast

“For some of the best blooms on the Central California Coast, cruise along Shell Creek Road in Santa Margarita, where meadows are carpeted with baby blue eyes, goldfields, and tidytips. Petal peepers park in roadside pullouts for photo ops and picnics. From Santa Margarita, take State 58 east 20 miles and turn left on Shell Creek Rd.; San Luis Obispo visitor bureau, 805/541-8000.”  Information & image via Sunset.com

Tour of the Chivas soap workshop.  A big thanks to our neighbors and the Fillmore community at large for coming out to support us!

Lauren using iPad to process payments – also a big hit!  You can see our soap display in the background before we had to quickly move everything inside when it started to sprinkle.

Relaxing with homemade food and drinks by the outdoor fireplace.

Karen Keltner of Soma Get Fit leads a yoga class on our front lawn.  A good way to burn off all of the goat cheese and rhubarb tarts we ate :-)
