Chivas farm: the new kid on the block
March 9, 2010 Written by LaurenJ
As you may know we had four new “kids” (baby goats) born at the Chivas farm this past weekend. Because these were the first goats born at our new farm in Bardsdale, we decided to name the firstborn boy “Bart.” Like his cartoon counterpart, Bart is rambunctious and lovable at the same time. Here are some pictures of him just a few days after his birth. Can you believe how big he is already?

Here he is getting into trouble by him mom, Susana. He’s not supposed to jump up on the water bucket and feeding bin.
He kept jumping up on my leg (luckily he’s still too small to knock me over), eating my shoestrings and (here) nibbling on my sweatshirt.
…And also tried sneaking out of the stable (we were keeping them inside for the day because it was raining).
Despite his jumping, nibbling and sneaking, he is still quite affectionate and lovable. Here he is kissing my hand …
…and “dancing”…
… and “snuggling”.
My mom and I just think that Bart is the best. We aren’t always able to keep the male goats (as they obviously aren’t milking goats), but he’s a keeper for sure!
