Good parents always say they don’t play favorites, but Sir Francis Bacon (Bacon for short) is by far our favorite newest addition to the farm!  He warms our hearts, makes us laugh and gives us a good excuse to go outside and play in sun.  Here is a photo of him “kissing” my brother, Neil, and below that two videos of Bacon with my other brother, Kurt.

Lauren using iPad to process payments – also a big hit!  You can see our soap display in the background before we had to quickly move everything inside when it started to sprinkle.

Chivas Customer Shares the Story of Her Nubian Goats

September 7, 2010 Written by LaurenJ

We recently spoke with a Chivas customer, named Cathy, who raises two Nubian goats on her farm in New Hampshire.  It was such a joy to connect with a fellow goat-owner, as we had much in common to talk about (Gossip Goat loves to chit-chat).  Here are some pictures (and captions) she shared with us of her goats – Lucy and Minnie (sisters born May 14 2005).
.
.
Minnie napping with our chicken, named Nuggets (above).
.
.
Minnie opened the door last winter (10 below zero!), and my husband found her sitting next to the wood stove, before he chased her out (above).
.
.
Lucy, my “bi-polar” Nubian, is eating the window box flowers…before I chased her away (above).
.

Plus, here are some more things Cathy had to say:
  • Goats are becoming very popular back here as pets.
  • Most people have to own one to understand how wonderful they are, yet don’t turn your back on them because they will get into trouble.
  • The local Vet sees about 6 to 8 goats a day here.
  • It was very nice to talk to you, love your products and the beautiful packaging.

Do you have goats too?  Click here to learn about our special discounts for fellow goat-owners!
